The Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) supports current conservation efforts of landowners, aiming to enhance grazing conditions, crop resiliency, and wildlife habitat. CSP assists in identifying and addressing natural resource issues through technical and financial support, encouraging practices that result in cleaner water, air, healthier soil, and improved wildlife habitats. This program includes annual payments for practice implementation and maintenance, with the option for higher payments through enhancement bundles. CSP contracts last five years with a renewal option for expanded conservation objectives. The program focuses on working lands and offers specific opportunities for beginning farmers, ranchers, and socially disadvantaged producers, aiming for a significant portion of program acres to be operated by these groups.
