The grant program focuses on providing Merit Awards to eligible trainees and students who submit high-quality research abstracts to an ASCO Meeting, emphasizing the recognition of scientific merit. Recipients are granted the opportunity to present their abstract at the meeting, and benefits include $1,000 in monetary support, complimentary registration, and access to reserved hotel reservation blocks. A subset of these awards, known as Special Merit Awards, honors the top-ranking abstracts annually, with additional recognition for the highest-quality submission in Pain and Symptom Management Research, including a $1,000 stipend and a plaque presented at the ASCO Annual Meeting. Candidates must apply for the award concurrently with their abstract submission.
