The Baldwin Hills Conservancy’s mission is to acquire open space, manage public lands, provide recreation, restore and protect wildlife habitat, and enhance educational experiences on public lands in their jurisdiction, consistent with the protection of lands and resources in the area.
The Baldwin Hills Conservancy (BHC) offers the Proposition 84 BHC grant program to support year-round projects that enhance the water quality of the Ballona Creek Watershed and facilitate access to the Baldwin Hills Parklands through trails and linkages. This grant, sourced from Proposition 84 funds, aims to allocate up to $1 million for planning and capital improvement projects that align with the broader goals of preventing contamination and degradation of coastal and watershed areas, restoring natural habitats, and promoting public access and enjoyment of coastal resources. Eligible projects must align with the goals outlined in the Baldwin Hills Park Master Plan and the conservancy's strategic priorities, such as increasing recreational opportunities for underserved communities, creating comprehensive trail systems, improving urban water quality, and restoring industrial lands for park uses.
