The Baldwin Hills Conservancy’s mission is to acquire open space, manage public lands, provide recreation, restore and protect wildlife habitat, and enhance educational experiences on public lands in their jurisdiction, consistent with the protection of lands and resources in the area.
The BHC Prop 40 grant program aims to fund planning and capital improvement projects benefiting the Ballona Creek Watershed and Baldwin Hills Conservancy territory. Eligible activities include the acquisition of open space, development of park land, rehabilitation of park facilities, restoration of habitat, and protection of land and water resources. Projects must align with the goals of the Baldwin Hills Park Master Plan and seek to increase recreation, create trails, facilitate public access, protect natural habitats and water quality, and restore industrial lands for open space purposes. All proposals must benefit the Ballona Creek Watershed within the Baldwin Hills Conservancy Territory and are subject to review for consistency with General Obligation Bond Law. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis.
