The "Victims of Child Abuse and Neglect Initiative" from OCVA seeks applications to address the service needs of children affected by abuse and neglect, emphasizing funding services where current offerings are inadequate or nonexistent. This grant program is designed to support a wide array of direct services for child victims/survivors, aiming to cater to their emotional, psychological, or physical needs; help stabilize their lives post-victimization; aid in navigating and participating in the justice systems; and restore a sense of security and safety. Projects may encompass a variety of support options, including but not limited to Emergency Financial Assistance (EFA) to cover immediate needs that contribute to the client's wellbeing. Applicants may request up to $100,000 annually for two years, with a specific allocation set aside for new organizations without prior OCVA funding in the last decade. The initiative is open to increasing grant amounts, pending supplemental state legislature funding.
