It supports various emergency scenarios, such as droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricanes, disease outbreaks, and chemical spills or leaks. The program provides grants for water transmission improvements up to $150,000 and up to $1,000,000 for constructing water sources, intake, or treatment facilities. This initiative by the USDA Rural Development is designed to prevent damage or restore access to clean water in rural areas, improve the natural environment, and stimulate local economic growth by attracting businesses.
