The grant supports eligible communities in mitigating the impacts of emergencies like droughts, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, disease outbreaks, and chemical spills that threaten safe drinking water availability. It offers financial assistance for projects such as constructing waterline extensions, repairing existing water distribution lines, and building water source, intake, or treatment facilities. Grants can go up to $150,000 for water transmission lines and up to $1,000,000 for water source projects. A federal disaster declaration is not required to qualify for this assistance.
