The Tonolli Fund grants focus on aiding the next generation of limnologists by prioritizing research in areas such as the biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nutrients, or other crucial elements in inland waters, the production and regulation of plant, animal, or microbial biomass, and the study of community composition, biodiversity, and the processes regulating these factors in all types of inland waters. This includes analytical or comparative studies of physical, hydrological, chemical, or biotic processes, aiming to deepen understanding and management of inland water ecosystems.
