The Clean Vessel Act Grant Program aims to reduce pollution from vessel sewage discharges into U.S. waters by funding the construction, renovation, operation, and maintenance of pumpout and dump stations for pleasure craft. The program reimburses up to 75% of the installed costs for eligible projects, supporting both public and private sector applicants that operate boating facilities open to the general public. Responsibilities for grant recipients include ensuring recreational vessels have access to these stations, installing visible signage including the national pumpout symbol and informational details, and recognizing the facility's funding source. The program divides funding into two regions, coastal and inland, with specific allocations for both pumpouts and dump stations.
